Do I have to be a Durham Anthropology student to submit a blog? No! Although we are based in the Anthropology Department at Durham, and most of our content is linked to the department, we gladly accept blog submissions from external writers. As long as it’s about anthropology, Anthro-Scene is interested!

Is there a maximum word length for the blogs? We like for blogs to be short and snappy – so around 800 words is preferable. Definitely no more than 1000 words.

Can I submit an idea for a blog rather than a fully written blog? Yes! We would love to hear any ideas you have and we are happy to help with development from idea to blog!

Is it only blogs you publish? We are happy to publish anything that is anthropological and invites external engagement with the discipline. Whether its fieldwork notes, opinion pieces or photograph entries – we want to showcase them!
